Zack Martin

Originally from Atlanta, GA, I’ve called Charleston my home for 14 years. Quite long enough to be inspired by the striking landscapes, historical architecture, and diverse culinary experiences there are to enjoy in the low country. Although photography is something I enjoy, my true passions have always led me toward the water. In my free time, you can find me surfing the west side of folly, kayaking the waterways of James Island, and casting for Red Drums and Sea Trout.

I have found that one of the biggest hurdles when photographing people is finding a level of comfort with the subject. When the subject is at ease, something magical happens. Something real. The beach has a quality that makes people feel that comfort, that easiness. I like to use that to my advantage when I shoot.

My portraits are more traditional, yet I love the editorial feel that you get with candid shots too. I try to deliver a little bit of both to my clients.
