Originally from Atlanta, GA, I have lived in Charleston for 16 of the last 17 years (I took a little hiatus to work out in Yellowstone for a seaseon). I’ve been shooting since I was a kid, remembering the kodak disk film and the corresponding point and shoots available to me back then. My tools now include, drones, medium format film cameras, and the ever-present cell phone camera.
I’ve tried a few times to settle into the groove that mediocre shooters like myself fall into so the bills can be paid, (i.e. weddings, family portraits, and the occasional and elusive product, and composite projects).
Those well worn paths never suited me. Instead, I enjoy shooting the less common vistas that most folks here seem to miss-the vacant downtown allies, shrimp boats, sunrises that are witnessed by almost no one, the fossils that have laid waiting for a millenia to be stumbled upon, and the juxtaposition of the natural with the artificial.
